The key to prosperity is "safe stimulus."  We need ways to stimulate economic growth without driving the government deeper into debt or risking excessive inflation.

Part 2: Re-Thinking Inflation

If you are driving without brakes, then you had better be driving very slowly. 

Policymakers need to be prepared to slow down the economy when inflation threatens to get out of hand.  They usually do that by raising interest rates, but our government has so much debt that it cannot afford high interest rates any more.  Moreover, our economy cannot afford the recession that high interest rates would bring on.  Because they lack good tools for slowing down the economy, our policymakers have been driving it very slowly and keeping inflation and growth at very low levels.

Thus, the key to faster growth is a better tool for controlling inflation.  That will make it possible to stimulate our economy safely without fear of inflation getting out of hand.

Part 3: A Plan for Restoring Prosperity

This talk proposes a small improvement in the way we create money and a big improvement in the way we control inflation.  These innovations will make it possible to give our economy the amount of stimulus it needs without driving the government deeper into debt or risking excessive inflation.
